AKATEU, shark city

Akateu is the dive site for sharks, especially grey reef sharks and white tipped sharks.
Ocasionally tiger sharks (which you rather not visit) and leopard sharks.

After 15 minutes diving the reef wall we saw one white tipped reef shark a little shorter than 2 meters checking us out... it came quit close but not offencive. willem took a picture but for me he was getting to close so I swam back to the reef... as instructed....

Swiming against the current and this event took half of our tank !! Lucky for us Brian our instructor went on to see behind the rocks and that was amazing !!!!
We saw a pack of 40 (!!!) grey reef sharks and some white tipped a 20 meters below us cruizing around....

The last 15 minute were easy goiing..using the current we didn't have to use our energy to go forward and again enjoy the beautiful coral..

This is a must (second place) of diving in Haapai!!

Max depth: 22 meters.
Bottom time: 45 minutes (more heartbeats per minute hahaha)
