A Wee picture of where we live - note the paragliders. They swoop over our flat hourly.
Hey Folks, Greetings still from Queenstown and from a newly gainfully employed Marc (i can hear parents sighs of relief from here). As of a couple of days ago i now have employment at 'The Liquor King', as the name suggests it's an off licience. For the most part i'm just sitting behind the till readings lots of books and occasionally serving the local populus as and when they come in. Also there is the added bonus of sometimes getting to drive thw kingly Liquor King van, with all the attached coolness. Pictures will follow of me as king as shortly. The training was certainly slightly different to that i might have expected in the UK. I remember when i was at HMV in Leeds it took at least a couple of hours and we were talked through most of the basic store procedures. In NZ the kiwis think this is a bit of a waste of time, so my till training was beng pointed at the till and told to sort of figure it out. On the second day i was entrusted to drive the van - a beast as well - bigger than the van i had for property maintainance in leeds. Also on my forth day i'll be locking up on my own - all very kiwi

Job aquisition has also been high on the agenda for claire and promptly after stopping her work as a cleaner at the hostel, she is now woeking as a cleaner at a hotel. I think she must just love it too much. She's also been enjoying the ossiciated job perks at the hostel - lots of free activities so she can advise the guests on which to do. I'm not jealous at all....grrrrrrrr...free bungy jump and jet boat ride, all while i get to wipe away cobwebs at the hostel and then serve staggeringly few customers while reading at the bottle shop. I'll try and get her to bolg you about how it all was as i've been trying to avoid reminding myself of all the injustice - ho hum.

Actual activities seem to have stopped for us at the moment as we're pretty much just living much in the same way as we did at home - working, socialising and getting used to living in another country - meeting local people and the like. I think i speak for both of us when i say we're definately enjoying it.

It would be ice to blog about amazing feats of fun and action but at the moment we;ve settled down into a lazy but happy working existance - as we finish work at roughly the same time each day we also take it in turns to cook for each other and have it waiting on the table. The last few days have yielded chilli, pie, steak...all sorts - we're trying to kind of out do each other.

Anyway as i'm technically meant to be working and supplying lots of alcohol to those that need it i better sign off for now and i'll blog more at length when i'm here on my own and the shops dead.

love to all.
