Hello All
AS I'm sure you can tell from the title, a travesty has happened. At approximately 1200 hrs today, my MP3 player wiped all of the music from its self, and I am now left without the only item which has kept me sane for the past 10 months. What am I to do?! To day that I am devastated is an understatement. I don't know what happened, and I don't know how I'm going to survive without it. Its a sad sad day.
I'm tempted to leave the b;og at that, just to impress how truly awful this is, but in the name of good blogging I will continue, but its only for you, you have to understand that!
This week has passed very well. Monday I skived off work and went to the library to swot up on Fiji and the Cook Islands. I decided that I was worth more than folding bits of plastic, and so Tuesday I started to work for Clemen's boss. Its doing that same work as the previous vineyard, but this time I get paid per plant, instead of by the hour. Before, as I was doing about 350
plants a day, and now I'm doing 510, or rather was. By my third row on Friday afternoon, I actually thought that I was going to loose my marbles, what's left of them anyway, and so Saturday and the start of my two week holiday came as a welcome repreive.
Me and Tanja (my Austrian friend from the hostel, for those who need a refresher, mum), are going to travel around the south island, well have already begun. We left Saturday monring and headed down to Christchurch (again). By the time we had gotten sorted and setled, it was a lot later than we had anticipated and so we didn't get time to meet up with Warren, Tip and Thomas. We went to bed really early in Christchurch and left earlish as well, to head for Mount Cook, which is where I am writing this from. I can't believe that we have only been gone for Two days, it feels like a lot more.
Tanja has a green van that you can sleep in, and its really cool, pootling through magnificent sceneary. After CHristchurch we stopped at Lake Tekapo, which is a beautiful turquoise mirror lake, surrounded my
snow capped mountains. Its really really stunning. As you turn off for Mount Cook, the mountains are always infront of you, and there's always hills etc incase you can't see them. WE also stopped for a photo at Lake Putaka (I think), which was also stunning. When the photos are done I'll show you, but my camera really couldn't capture how amazing it is. I guess you'll all just have to come and have a squiz for yourselves to find out!!
Tomorrow, we're going to do a walk, and then head off to Wanaka. We'l stay there for two nights and visit Puzzle World (I'm so excited about this. They have a giant maze and everything!!). Then Wednesday we go to Te Anu, where Milford Sound is, Via Queenstown, where we Pick up Tanja's other friend Ivy. WE're all going to do Milford Sound together, and then Friday head b ack to Queenstown, where we're going to relax and party for a couple of days.
Sunday we are heading off to Fox Galcier, and then making our way up tp Abel Tasman, which is a national park. We're going to do a two day walk, or tramp if
All Our Stuff
Poor little van! No wonder it was so slow up the hills! you're a kiwi, and then head back down to Blenhaim.
My plans are constantly changing. Due to money issues, I'm going to have to work for another two weeks in Blenheim and then head up to the north island for a few days. I need to change my ticket as I no longer want to go to Fiji and the Cook Islands. I can't really afford it and I'm not really that bothered. IT would be nice, but I'd rather make things a bit more comfortable money wise for America.
Oh, would you believe it as well, my stupid NZ SIM card has broken! Aagghhhhhhh! So not only do I not have my music (it kills me a little bit more each time I think about it. I've never been without my music, and I have another six weeks before I think I'll be home!), I now don't have my phone, until I can get to a Vodaphone store, which I imagine will be Queenstown! What a fucking arse!!!
Anyway, I hope you're all good. For those who haven't realised yet, or didn't receive/read the email (you know who you are!), I would like to reiterate that
Some Sealions

Anyway, I'm off to enjoy the free sauna at the hostel, woo hoo!! take care
Lots of lovw
A sad, musicless Jules!!

Life without music
OK Jules, this is the next test en route to becoming a complete grown up person - living without music. Look at it this way, your generation is the first to have been brought up with music on tap at all times. The Walkman was only invented in your lifetime, so comparatively recently music was only available when in the presence of radio, or some sort of stored music player. Not too far to regress - we live without music and so can you - or take up singing. Love Pat
