Last Days in New Zealand

8/2 Last Day in Christchurch
We spent our last afternoon in Christchurch partly separately. Anouschka went into the botanical gardens and I went to the Art Gallery. To have a proper goodbye to thank Erik and Jean, we made a three course meal for them, Dan, Frances and Jay. Afterwards, we still had to pack our suitcases in the middle of the night.

9/2 Goodbye NZ
To quote the miner from Reefton: New Zealand really is a bit like paradise on earth. Incredible landscapes, very friendly people and a relaxed atmosphere. I can’t think of any other country in which a customs officer says: “see ya!”. It is not difficult to feel at home in this place.

Tijd om terug te gaan naar Christchurch.

’s Middags zijn we nog even de stad in gegaan. Lisa ging naar de Art Gallery, en ik ben de kathedraal op geklommen en heb door de botanische tuin met aanliggend park gelopen. Daarna hebben we inkopen gedaan voor een spetterend ‘laatste avondmaal’ bij Erik en Jean thuis. (Bijna) de hele familie was er ’s avonds, dus dat was een gezellige afsluiting. Toen moest alle zooi natuurlijk weer in de koffers gestouwd worden. Het aantal kilo’s is alleen maar groter geworden...
