Happy Birthday Pauly!!
Kiss for the birthday boy!! Hey peeps!
So we met up with my parents (Paul's) and my big bro... (Mike). Mum and Dad put us all up in a posh motel for 2 nights... with a jacuzzi bathtub...WOOHOO!!! Never have we been so clean! Spent the first day catching up and visiting Akaroa, which was the longest drive ever, only to find that it was raining and we could only see about two foot infront of our faces! However, it was nice. That evening we went out for a lovely meal and met up with our friend Kat (our NZ 'family' member!). Two days flew by and my parents set off in their luxury caravan which was about 10x the size of ours and brand new... all for about a tenner extra a day.... typical! Well.. actually theirs didnt have that all essential DVD player and not to mention the free frisbee and pencil!!...lol
From Christchurch, we set off for Franz Josef with Mike, where he took the plunge and did the skydive... and for those of you who read our last blog, and we said that we did something daring... well that was it!! We did a 12,000ft dive over Lake Wanaka in
Skydive!!!
Hang on I changed my Mind!!!! Queenstown.... and only paid for one...bargain!! Natalie managed to stay in her top... (see the photos of the skydive - there is a first for everything!!). Great guys who did the dive with us so we hung around with them for a while after, where Natalie was propositioned to be in a naked skydive calendar... and where was my offer guys?? Sorry... back to Franz Josef... yeah. Mike did the dive and for those family members who wish to see what genuine fear looks like... please email him for the photos... gutted Mike!! Then we headed for Lake Tekapo (pronounced "take a poo"...hehe) where we stayed for the night to welcome in the happiest day of the year.... being MY 24TH BIRTHDAY!!!! ...alas I am no longer 2 years Natalie's junior, much to her satisfaction and relief!!!!
SO early on Friday morning... we headed for Geraldine where we did an all day White Water Rafting extravaganza!! It was brilliant... huge rapids and a really cool guide... we even got to jump off a ten metre cliff into the water (thankfully) which we did twice... as we are now fully fledged adrenaline-junkies!! Later that night we all headed back to
Skydive!!!
I jumped!!!!!! Christchurch...again (three times a charm!!) and met up with Kat for some tapas food (missin' the La Tasca food too much ... clearly!!) then headed into town for some partying... Natalie nearly got thrown out of a club by a two inch evil dwarf lady for spilling water.... on purpose.... but for no reason. We were up till about 4am and setting off again at about 10am so we didnt feel our greatest for the journey onto Kaikoura, where we were able to NOT see any whales NOT see any dolphins NOT see any penguins (because we were late.... obviously!!). Nat stayed in the hot tub whilst Mike and I went to NOT look at any stars (because it was too cloudy) so pretty much an idealistic time in Kaikoura, according to the brochures... NOT!! Unfortunately it was then time to say farewell to brother Michael who stayed to... actually see the wildlife this time!! As me and Natalie rejoined Stray for our journey back... opting for the ferry crossing this time as opposed to the horrific flight of DEATH earlier in the journey... and bumped into a still-recovering-from-Paul's-birthday Kat onboard. And here we are back in 'Dorkland.... erk again!! Just awaiting our flight tomorrow to Australia!! Phew...
Well in New Zealand closing... we have had the most amazing time in NZ and we both think it is going to be near impossible to live up to. To all you amazing people we have met... here is a closing message from us both...
In 'Ancient Mow-WEE-an' times there was a 'sea-gull' who sat on a rock and it split forming a 'Kowdi' tree... in 'Tadpole'. It was anciently 'maouldy' but it 's'crap'!! Fortunately it 'effervesced' but we 'killed it until it died'... 'but it doesn't matter' because s'crap... 'AW BLESS YOU'..
...and for those of you that read it and just thought we are plain weird... yes... we are!!
PS we just found out that our ancient mow-wee-an names in Chinese are:
Natalie Piper: 那它列 匹配
Paul Hutchings: 帕 户庭嘎
Bye bye New Zealand!!!!! xxx
Just another PPPPPPPSSSSSSSS!!! We're having trouble with the photos in this darn place. We'll add them tomorrow so don't forget to look again!!!!! Byeeeeeeeee
