We had a lovely stay in Napier. Napier is on the east coast of the North Island. There was an earthquake there a while back and the city was rebuilt in an Art Deco style. Mark and I stayed at the Bluewater Inn. It was right next to the marina and a bit outside of town. We decided that we wanted to walk to the center of town and taking the long way it was about a 45minute walk. The weather was great and we were able to see some of the communities. Napier is another city that we got that “I could live here” feeling. Once we got into town the first bar we saw was an Irish Bar. Funny that. Mark and I had a drink while we waited for the restaurants to open. A lot of them didn’t open until 5:30pm. We had dinner at the Lone Star. Very American, lots of food. The pub was nice so we went back after dinner. Mark and I were both full so we were getting ready to go when Mark was accosted by an English girl who was very upset to find out he was married. Amused we headed back

to the hotel. We took a different route to the hotel. It was a bit shorter, but straight uphill half way. Our legs are not thanking us for that last walk. Overall, we wish we had a bit longer in Napier. (This seems to be the case for almost every place we have stayed.)
