Traveled to center City Auckland where we boarded a local bus for a ride north to Warkworth. The bus was luxurious. Our friends, Carol and Bryan Taylor picked us up at the bus stop. They took us on a driving tour of the local historical area, Matakana.

We stopped at a local winery. Bryan, who is developing a small vineyard, was seeking information from the owner on how to best protect his developing grapes from the birds! From the vineyard we drove to their local beach for a view. At their home we met their pet sheep and dogs. We also took in their extensive garden including more then 80 rose bushes. We had dinner on the deck which overlooked a beautiful bay.

Oh it looks so nice there!
We had our first real cold day around here at 15 degrees F when we got up. Looks like the weather is being nice and you're having a ball! Keep it up! Will you be going to the south island at all? Mary Ann and Chuck

Fun!
You two are having absolutely too much fun!!! Robin & Hugh's garden is so beautiful! And your friends with their own vineyard, how great is that?! Love viewing the photos. What a wonderful adventure you're having! Frank is running the Black Warrior 25K (15.6 miles) this Saturday. We've rented a cabin for the weekend and will also be doing some hiking in the Sipsey Wilderness. Keep enjoying yourselves - carpe diem!
