Bit late getting this up on the blog but was too busy seeing the sights of New Zealand but at least now I will endeavour to do it over the next couple of days.
This trip was planned 5 years ago when friends from high school met up in Melbourne. Unfortnately, Janet who was in Melbourne did not join Christine, Janice and Mary on this trip.
Got up early and son Rob took me to the Canberra airport. Left on QF1492 at 8.00 am and arrived in Sydney at 8.50. Got onto the transfer bus to the International airport. Had coffee and chat and then at 11.15 through Customs and Immigration and met Christine, my highschool friend from Adelaide and then we boarded our plane QF43 to Auckland. Left on time at 1235. Was a good flight. Arrived at Auckland at 1735 pm. (2 hours ahead of Australia). Mary, another highschool friend who has lived in New Zealand since 1965, met us at the airport and drove us to our hotel - Best Western President in Victoria Street. Booked in and then a short walk to BBQ King for a meal. Jeenah, Chris’ niece joined us. Then

View of Auckland a walk along Queens Street to Starbucks for a coffee and then to Jeenah’s hotel. Back to our hotel and then bed after the start of my birthday.
