The famous Grand Pacific Hotel... now completely run down... it is now owned by the Government and their soldiers have the run of it... apparently plans to renovate and restore have been in the pipeline for years... Google and you will see how it once was...

I stayed at South Seas in Suva... a beautiful place... the story goes that an Englishman once owned The Grand Pacific Hotel and also South Seas... South Seas was the accommodation provided to all the Grand Pacific staff... beautiful polished floors... high ceilings...the daughter of that original Englishman still owns South Seas... Highly recommend...

Casa... one of the lovely girls who worked at South Seas... she earned around $90 for a 6 day week... The girls lived on site...

The dorm quarters... I wasnt complaining... around $18 a nite...and included a continental breakfast...it was just beautiful...

My 1st ever horse-ride along the beach... I must say that the beaches I came across along the coral coast were not anywhere near the magnificence of the ones we get in Australia such as Gold Coast, Bondi...

this is Mark... who took me on the horseride... he works at the resort and is also a rugby player...ahhh... so fit... makes me want to head out and join a gym straight away... :)

Mango Bay Resort... the infamous location where I had my nite visitor... I do not recommend this place...

The Mosquitos (Midgy's) here carry flick-knives!!! The Martimonial section was hilarious and I'll have to attempt the "Rice Ball" recipe.....x

Hi Nicole, Great photos once again, it's a pity you didn't get to see the outer islands - that is the real Fiji... I've never been to Bali, so I'm looking forward to seeing your next lot of photos. Happy travelling. : ) Sonja
