At Nadi Bay Hotel on our first night in Fiji Flew across to Fiji on the 10th March arrived into Nadi Airport we were welcomed proper Fijian stylee with people playing exoctic Fijian music as you step off the aircraft.
Fiji was absolutely stunning felt like I was on a proper holiday - we spent the one night on Nadi then nice an early the following day we headed off to catch the flyer boat with our Bula Passes in hand to make our journey to the furthest island away (Nucula) which took 4 hours. The Journey wasn't too bad, I did feel a little sea sick but to be fair I couldn't really complain I was passing many of the 300 + Islands which make up Fiji - we travelled on a clear bright sunny day which made all the Islands look so cute with their white sandy beaches with crystal turquise blue waters surrounding them, what made the journey even more special was dolphins swimming along side the boat showing off with jumps out of the water which must have been over a metre high - after everybody began with the 'Oooo and Arrrrr's' I think the Dolphin got a little stage fright and made a run for

Fire dancer spelling my name..... J it, but I was an amzing site.
Fiji was all about Snorkelling, relaxing and having a proper holiday before starting Asia and thats sure what happened... here's my route...
Nucula - Orsmans Bay for 1 night, tried Snorklelling but due to the rain the night before the waters wasn't very clear so vacated to the lovely sandy beach for the day
Matacawalevu - Long Beach for 1 night, this Island is only a 30 mins boat journey from Nucula arrived on a lovely clear day - we found ourselves the only guest on the island - people would pay thousands for this... the staff were so friendly we played a game called flicky, flicky - a borad game!! very amuzing whilst having our own Cava Ceremony - basically drinking muddy water - but when in rome and all.... when drinking this you get a numb type of feeling on your lips and its suppose to make you feel kinda tired but had the reverse on me - I was wide awake not able to sleep that night. The taste of Cava is rank, its like drinking muddy water but hey gotta keep up with the locals so

Fire dancer spelling my name..... O I found myself drinking wayy too much!
Naviti Island - White Sandy Beach Resort for 2 Nights this Island was a 1hour 45mins journey from Matacawalevu - we were welcomed with all the staff singing a very catchy welcome song called 'Bula, Bula' meaning Hello, we were then welcomed with an exoctic coconut drink, then for the afternoon I found myself vacating to the beach (again) to top up my 'Hard At Work' tannage!
Waya - Sunset Resort for 1 night which was an hours journey from Naviti. When we arrived on the Island I was amazed to see a guy who was on our Whitsunday's tour in Australia... very weird, so caught up with him going over travel stories 'as you do!'
Dinner time came and we were all out of our dorm eating in the restraunt, once we finish our food one of the girls went to get her money to pay for our night snorkling trip only to find that our dorm had been robbed!! yep some bugger came in rummaged through our stuff and decided not to take anything from me bar my bottle of mint flavoured baileys!! I was highly annoyed, that was
Fijian Island
Passing by on the flyer baot my lets watch the sunset with a glass of baileys drink... bleeder... but to be fair I was very lucky so I and so were the others as the police caught the guy responsible and everbody got their goods back ... unfortunately there was no sign of the Baileys!!
That evening we didn't want to robbery to spoil things so 4 of use (Me, Jenny, Mike and Chris) decided to go night snorkelling and our guide sammy took his spear out with him to go fish spearing... I was given the responsibility of getting the dead fish into the bag and carry the bag around with me... we must have caught 20 + big fishes... hopefully my pics will come out clear.
The night after coming back from Night snorkelling I agreed to watch the sunrise... only to realise I was being woken up at 5.40am to go on a 30min walk up to a hill top which felt like a mountain... I had to do it bare foot as my feet kept slipping on the muddy path - it was exhausting. But in the end like all these types of walks are alwasy worth it!! the sunrise and the
Fijian Island
Passing by on the flyer boat view was gorgeous!
The above Islands were in the Yasawa group we then made our way to The Mamanucas Islands which are very close to the mainland - Southsea Island we stayed for 1 night. This Island is tiny!! you can walk around the whole island in the space of 5 mins how cool is that!! The evening we arrived we played crab racing - $1 a crab - winner crab wins 3 tins of beer. The women running the show we named Big Mumma as you didn't wanna mess with her... there were about 10 of us staying at the resort and everybody had to be involved!! Unfortunately my snail was out first and the winner had to down one of the beers through the snorkel - very 18-30's but was funny.
That night I arranged a scuba dive which cost just over a tenner - bargain!! left at 7.30am took a small boat out to the waters and went down to 21meters to a small wreck, the waters were soo clear - I've never experienced the visability and the tempretures like here - I could see all around me as if i were on the top of
Taxi boat
taxi boats collect us from the Flyer to take us to our resort the waters and the temp was 28 degrees -= I didn't even wear a wet suit!! I saw some hugh Cod fish and tones and tons of tropical fishes - once again I really hope my pics come out!!
We returned back to Nadi Bay Hotel in Nadi on a Sunday which ment most of the town centre shop were closed as the Fijian go to church - but we took a wonder round town anyway and lazed by the pool. The following day I took a taxi with my roomies into town whilst katy and louise bathed by the pool, I had a walk around the food market in Nadi town and also the jewellery stalls I bought some Cava to send home so Tel you can give the traditional drink a try - but only if it gets through customs!! we'll see..
Well this brings me to the end of my Fiji Experience - had an amazing time, the weather kept good for us considering its their rainy season we found it only rained at night but the days were as hot as can be! If you want a relaxing holiday and some guarenteed sunshine with
friendly locals then Fiji is the place!
My tour of Asia is begining now - so will keep you posted... first stop is Singapore for 3 nights then onto Bali and Malaysia - can not wait!!
