val decided we needed a good holiday together and we arranged to go on a yacht cruise off the kimberley coast from broome
well that is going to cost a bit. bugger me, she has worked out that we can fly there, afford the cruise , but only enough brass to fly one of us home.
Well , what can i do. Worked out that i can catch a bus to halls creek, then will have to ride to Alice (what this blog is mostly about), and she has booked me a flight from Alice to Melb. But guess what - on Tiger - might be more riding.
So am getting organised now. Taking my old mountain bike, travelling light, oh and she booked me out of Alice on 14th Aug. which only gives me 6 days for the 1050 ride. The deadline and challenge is accepted.
Leave albury for broome on 27th July, cruise till 6th Aug. arrive Halls Creek at 4am on 8th Aug. - and away.
There are various ways of getting messages to this blog - all Abo missions have mobile phone coverage, a couple of mine setups along the way may have internet or phone, passing motorists may carry messages.
See my first pic which is actually a map i made up of the route and my intended passage.
See how we go
cheers
