Edit Blog Post

We have finally sorted ourselves with a laptop so we can down load photos and update our blog-site. We arrived in Sydney on April 4th sorting ourselves out for our travels which included buying a second hand car. So far, everyone has been very helpful especially at guiding us on places to visit.

Hunter Valley

Our first stop was in the lovely Hunter Valley wine region where we stayed for two nights in a beautiful Georgian Colonial homestead set in 80 acres. Next stop was the Myall Lakes, a stunning area of expansive waterways with lots of birds, including black swans, and then we spent a night at Treachery Cove- a fine expansive beach for the surfers! When we were returning from a walk to a Seal Rocks light house 2 dingo’s appeared on the path from no where, we kept very still and ignored them, they passed without so much of a sniff!

This is the architect designed house we stayed in at Nelson Bay, very light, spacious and only cost 300 GBP for one week between four of us. It’s a small resort with loads of water sports, local area names are great; we dived from Soldiers point and Cabbage Tree Island where we saw doughnut nudibranchs, the local beaches we swam at are called Shoal, Fingal and Salamander bay.
