Car 79!!! Day 75
And we are off the permit road.. 2 days late, we reread the permit and end up finding out we had to get to laverton. Oh well. Were not to worried. We pack up and say our goodbyes to Hans and Anneke and move on our way once again on our own.. or so we thought, about 100km down the road I spot a claypan and have to stop to see it. About 10 minutes later hans arrives, and the fun begins. He has a blocart. A gocart type body powered by a 4m sail. And you can really tear it up, even getting a wheel up. I figure we hit about 30kmh or around that maybe a bit quicker. It was a blast, Jackie was so funny, she goes flying by screaming “how do I stop” we thought it was funny. We enjoy lunch on the claypan and then move on towards laverton and restock a few items like apples and tea and some pop. Then start our sidetrack to Kalgoorlie by taking Mt. weld road along the mines to about 10km south of Lake Carey, along the way we find ourselves getting muddy as the road
was slightly flooded but still passable. Our camp spot was amazing, 10 foot rock walls surrounded us and we had a roaring fire. With clear skies even. The perfect bush camp if you ask me. We even have a natural bridge next us.
