It's been an amazing time planning this trip. Much appreciation goes to my brother-in-law David for his patience and excellent negotiation skills to come up with a product that four headstrong sisters can agree too.
Here are some things I've discovered are important to make the trip a good one:
DO
o. Register travel plans and contact details online at Smart Traveller.
o Subscribe to the latest travel advice
o Take out comprehensive travel insurance - scan copy and leave a copy with family
o Update contents insurance to include away from home.
o Check and pack passport - scan copy and leave a copy with family
o Check what Visas are required and apply
o Visit doctor get vaccinations and medication travel letter
o Buy a travel first aid kit
o Check all medications are labelled and take a sharps container with wipes for clexane

o Arrange currency, load and go Visa and/or US cash, contact banks re traveling to ensure account doesn't get closed - scan copy and leave a copy with family
o Set up travel blog and let family know how often I'll update
o Set up and make sure Skype is working on iPad
o Drivers license, check if need an international licence - scan copy and leave a copy with family
o Pay all bills due while away
o Make sure life insurance information is up to date
o Remove all jewellery and place in a safe place
o Ensure will is in place and accurate
o Tape name, address, and passport number inside suitcase.

o Three changes of clothes
o Passport
o itinerary and tickets
o travel insurance details
o iPhone
o iPad
o Chargers and international power adapters,
o medication letter and medication
o inflatable pillow,
o sleeping mask,
o socks for the plane,
o baby wipes
o Prescription medicines in clearly labelled containers.
o Tissues
o first aid kit
o Insect repellent non aerosol
o Letter listing allergies and medical conditions.
o Torch
o Photos - black and white passport size for permits, etc.
o Sunglasses
o Cold sore cream
o Ziplock bags
o Clothes line
o Laundry bag
I think I'm ready.
