/11/09 Left Jurien Bay & filled up with gas on the way 87 cents, the scenery was beautiful with lots of wildflowers to see. I nearly took your advice Margy & pulled on the handbrake so I could take more photo’s . To be fair to Den though, it was too hard to pull the van off the road in a hurry, so as soon as he could find a spot he pulled over. I was so engrossed in taking the pics I did not see this badly decomposed Emu (poor thing) & Den says there’s a head & neck there & then I saw a foot & I wont tell you the rest, but I high tailed it out of the bush with Den laughing at me. We put Tom Tom on to find our Caravan Park in Madley ,Perth & I put in the shortest route & it took us into back streets & we ended up having to turn around in a narrow St, so Den not happy & ready to throw Tom Tom out the window. Well back on track we found The Kingsway Caravan Park ($28 a night) & settled in, we decided that because we would be here for more than a week we would put the shade mesh annex up. The park is pretty old but the amenities are clean & it has a pool if we need it (ha , ha its cold today 22 deg). It also backs onto a Medical Centre , 4 minutes walk to a big Shopping Centre, 20 mins drive into Perth City & has a bus stop outside the gate. It started to rain so we put up the side tarp to protect us, it was blowing a gale. Jenny & Alex were staying in the park & they called in for a drink with their poodle Tashy, we had to sit in the van it was so cold (not used to this). We had an early night.

-11-09 Up early we had to tie down the annex & put up another side as so windy. Lots of bits & pieces to do today. Its raining & cold, about 19 deg. We went & made Dr’s appointments for later in the day, we then went & did a little shop & made apps for eye tests for tomorrow, We went into town to find the Info Centre, which was a bit tricky, as we parked ($3.20 per hr metered) it was pouring with rain & miserable . We eventually found the Centre & got a bit of info & then we found this great pub & had a drink & a burger & we were back to the car within the hour. We filled the car up with gas ONLY 51 cents with discount & Petrol ONLY $1.09 with discount. Amazing the difference. Went home & I had a rest as my back is not good & then we went off to the Dr’s. He was running late but he is a very thorough Dr, he is sending him for a few tests to make sure all is well. I got some scripts & I have to have a blood test too for my thyroid. On the way back from the Dr’s we stopped to see Jenny & Alex, to say goodbye as they are leaving tomorrow. We had a drink with them & Jenny gave me a tablet called Restavic to try to help me sleep. You can get it over the counter at the chemist. We got home to 2 very hungry dogs who wanted their tea , as by this time it was 7pm. We made tea & went to bed & I actually slept all night (yeah).

-11-09 We went for our blood tests, then went to Centrelink to see about going on New Start, till Den gets a job , & to get a health card cause we are low income earners. So that took up all the morning. We went back to the van & then went to the Shopping Centre to have our eyes tested & I got a new pair of glasses & den got new lenses in his. We will pick them up next week. Back to the van & I rested my back, Den made a call to Mick & Corey, we had an easy tea & went to bed early & watched TV, It was only 15 deg today, freezing. 2nd night I have slept through)

-11-09 The sun is out today & it’s a bit breezy, 21 deg but a lot nicer than the other days, so we decided to drive north up the coast road, calling in at Hillary’s Boat Harbour, A great place with lots of eateries & shops, so after we looked at all the “boats” for sale & dreamed of owning one ( rich ville) we had a coffee & a walk & then went back to the car. We called into Hillary’s Beach, Pinaroo Point where the dogs had a walk on the doggy beach, then Mullaloo Beach. We turned around & drove south down the coast road & the coastline was just beautiful. We stopped at Brighton Beach & then ended up at City Beach & had lunch at “The Kiosk”. We drove home via Waneroo Road , back to the van. We had Steak & Veg for tea & I had another good nights sleep, I am only having half a tablet , so hopefully I can get back to my sleeping pattern & get off them.

-11-09 Den went to have another test this morning & I decided to have a restful day & see if I can get my back better, so Den was back by lunch time & we had lunch, I caught up on my diary & photos & den laid on the bed & watched the V8’s ( & had a sleep) . We had a Baked Dinner for tea (yummy) & had a quiet day. The temp was about 23 deg & still windy, tomorrow to Wed is supposed to be a lot hotter (bring it on) I am loosing my tan. Den is off to the V8’s tomorrow (are you jealous boys) I hope he has a great time. I am not sure what I am doing yet .
