My Penfriend

A Happy Day. We had an early meeting with Helena my Penfriend of 50 years and her husband See Mung who have lived in S'pore all their lives and who's family is similar to ours. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to sample the locality and customs beyond our westernised hotel and it's immediate surroundings and fast food enviroment. We began with a traditional chinese breakfast, did much sightseing including a trip to the famous Orchard Road all decked out for Christmas and seething with shoppers. Among them we bumped into our previous aquaintance of the day before, the Indian lady's husband - still apparently not speaking to her. He told us he'd sat most of the day outside whilst his wife and daughter shopped. The. day ended with a night safari and fond goodbyes.
