What a lovely experience. I had always heard that Margaret River is very nice. Now I know. While staying in a friend's home, we visited 4 wineries; had lunch a one of them--Wise Winery. Very elegant. (Good wines too).
The others were Redgate, Leeuwin, and Voyager. Tasted some great wines; as far as environment goes, I really liked Voyager which has fabulous rose gardens and the architecture is done in a South African style.
One highlight was our visit to Boranup Forest and Galleries. The Galleries is a large display of items all made from local woods. The workmanship is incredible. I would have loved to have bought some of their tables--lovely inlay work and interesting leg shapes. Oh well, they wouldn't fit in our luggage. We did buy a few small things to bring home.
On November 24, we had an early turkey dinner with our cousins. Since it is also American Thanksgiving, most of the turkeys had been gobbled up, but we did find one.
