After more than a month in my new home here in Western Australia, we decided to go a bit farther out and visit Fremantle. After a quick stop in Perth (30 minutes or so by train) to get some cash, we took the train to Fremantle (I think another 30 minutes). this is where the guard stands to watch over the prisoners at the prison yard. since the ratio of guards to prisoners is almost 1:40, they will not survive in the open.

before this turnstile was put in place, 6 prisoners jumped the guards, hostaged them and set fire to the prison. firefighters were not able to get in until $200M worth of damages.
