Packed and stacked
After a full weekend of cutting, scooping and packing an enormous amount of ripe mangoes I now have a full freezer to last the rest of the century.
Monday was a bit of a slog after a lovely long weekend at Barn Hill. I was right back into it on Tuesday though. In fact, all this week I got to school around 6am and was quite productive getting report comments written.
The other big thing which happened on Tuesday, was that it rained in Derby. The first of the wet season and right on time- being the 1st of November and all. We did a rain dance to celebrate, although it was short lived it was definitely appreciated.
On Wednesday our team played netball and afterwards went out to tea together.
I finally managed a decent couple of serves in volleyball on Thursday and we hit the Boab on Friday night. It was a packed house. Everyone came out to see RoadWorx a Wyndham band. It could have been the warmer weather or just the hectic week but the three drinks I had went to straight to my head. Oh well, we had fun and there was lots of dancing. The only sad thing was that my lovely friend Kristen left Derby that day and she was sorely missed at the pub that night.
Saturday night was the much anticipated Hopsital Halloween Party. Costume parties are certainly popular up here and I was lucky enough to have borrowed my costume. It was another great night of laughter and dancing. I polished off the night with a late night stop-in at a birthday party for one of the detectives. Walking in dressed as Superwoman to a room full of cops was more than slightly embarassing. A big group of us all walked home together, probably to the neighbours dismay since we were all in good spirits.
So, thankgoodness I had made a start on my reports earlier in the week since they didn't get a look-in over the weekend. Week 4 is even more chaotic than this week but it's just so much fun I don't feel like complaining.

This little Fish is Derby bound again. 2012 is off to a roaring start with Orang-utans and Mt. Kinabalu ticked off the list already. If last year was anything to go by, this year will be full of dirt, dust and laughter. I'm also excited about jetty sunset drinks, camping/fishing trips, cowboys, dress-up parties, wide-eyed children and of course... more Kimberley adventures!

Hi Westernred, you must be having the time of your life Chloe. I had always heard Derby social life was the best. I thought that was in the past but I see it is still great. Lucky you had all that practice picking rocks at the farm or you wouldn't know how to pick mangoes ! Love you Chloe, Dad.
