Not having enough time to make car hire worthwhile, i had to skip driving the Great Ocean road and get an overnight bus, 11 hours ! Thanks for the pillow Cath ! saved my spine.

St kilda is kinda Melbourne on the beach.a bit funky/alternative. fantastic cake shops, a few decent bars and restaurants, a fantastic burger place, nothing like McDonalds, a Decent beach with amazing sunsets,def the place to stay.

Melbourne itself is very big. best place is Vic Market and a certain pub, which is a local land mark.
Probably a good place to live for cricket, Tennis and every other sport, but kinda less interesting for Tourists.
loved St kilda though. would be a good place to chill after driving the great ocean road. next time need to do phillip island and the whole penguin thing.

Young and Jacksons
was moved here from the Art Gallery a long time ago, considered a bit naughty !
all comedy aside the pub was famous since troops leaving to go away in WW II would come here , fight a bit and the painting was often the last image of a naked woman they saw before they died, as proved by a very moving letter from one ex soldier on the wall. worth seeing just for the letter, as for the ladies name.. i 'll let you guess..

actually a tiny part of, nearly as good as Adelaides !
