Its a train station. Its yellow. Its Flinders station!
Oooops we have slacked somewhat lately! I'll have to update you on the goings on in Melbourne.
Brian and I headed for a few days into the city and stayed in the ever so luxurious Windsor Hotel, the last grand hotel in Australia apparently. It was gorg!

We checked out the Melbourne Museum and then went for dinner by the river. Later that night we checked out the Crown Casino which was a big disappointment cause I thought that it would be like Casino the movie...eveyone dressed to the hilt...but it was more like butlins with all the ole dolls on the fruit machines 'cept here they call them pokey machines! Well that was my view until a few days had passed and Brian was able to tell me, without getting his head bit off, that maybe I just wasn't in a very good mood that night!? lol So maybe it could have been good!? Who knows...but Brian absolutely loved it! Cept for I was doom and gloom (apparently!) lol

On Tuesday we hooked up with Emily and Lauren from work....it ws brilliant to see them and we had a total gaig!!! We headed for the Queen Vic

Roof-top lunch.
Markets and then to the pub! Nah...we had a roof top lunch and a bottle of wine, above their hotel. Like true tourists we ended up in an Irish Pub which led to dinner at the........Hard Rock Cafe! lol ROOOCCCCK!!! It was a scream though and Lauren and Emily where in top form, it was so good to catch up and so good of them to come down and meet us.
That night we just went and had pints in Federation Square. But along the way we witnessed the best thing we have seen in Oz and maybe the greatest thing we have seen in our lives... The Sonic Manipulator!!!! What a guy. what a spaceman. Hope he gets the money to fix his space ship soon. Won't be able to upload videos on our blog, you'll have to wait till we're home, your in for a treat!!! We'll throw up a pic just to give you a taste............
So our last day in Melbourne city and our last day with the Canberra two went like this.
1: Breakfast ( made by some guy from the Ballygomartin Road, go figure)
2: St Pauls Cathedral ( Old, Big, Cathedral. Yep you

Rejected!!!!

3: Shrine of Rememberance ( Once again the aussies know how to honour their dead)
4: Bar ( The cricketers bar at that, had a Donald Bradman bat which Brian liked a alot)
5: Bye Bye Emily & Lauren & Bye Bye Melbourne city ( Thanks for having us)

So we headed down to Mornington again for our final night in Victoria. Went out for dinner with Kathleen and Colm. Lou sang a song, her first aussie performance. Lovely.
We had to get up at 03:30 the next morning to head to the airport so a late night was not had.

Melbourne was fantastic. Kathleen, Peter and family really looked after us and it was great to see another side of Australia. Was a wee bit sad leaving, wish we had more money and more time to spend longer there, but once again its another reason to come back.

Things we will always remember are waking up in the morning and seeing the place covered in smoke from the crazy bush fires ( still cant get over that! ). Jumping into the middle of ocean together like mental mentalists ( Still cant get over that!).
The One and Only..........The One and Only..........The One and Only..........

Sonic Manipulator!!!!!
Stepping out of flinders station in Melbourne for the first time and being hit by the colour, energy and buzz of the city. The total hospitality and craic of the McGuigan's ( Thanks Guys!!! ) and of course the one and only SONIC MANIPULATOR!!!!!!

Hugs. LouBri.
