Left Melbourne early Sunday to miss the traffic, but caught the rain instead. Cold drizzle actually, though it didn’t stop scores of cyclists out on the road with us. Went around the east side of Port Phillip Bay and took the ferry across to Queenscliff, then rode the last 30 kms into Geelong in pouring sleet. Seems we’ve brought southern Australia their first serious rain in years. Rather than tackling the Great Ocean Road in the wet, we’ve decided to spend today inside catching up on mail, diaries and if we’re lucky, finishing the installation of the communication equipment we bought last week so we can finally talk to each other while we’re riding. Hand signals just aren’t quite the same thing.

Don't you wish you bought Harleys and were travelling across the US?
