Hi everyone
We are now heading our way up the east coast of Tasmania. We had a great time at New Norfolk, exploring all around, then ventured down to Snug where we had 4 nights in a lovely campsite beside a sandy beach. We drove south as far as we could go, past Southport to Cockle Creek. Lovely scenery, and 4WD tracks to get to the end. Another day we took the ferry and minibus and went to Buny Island. We did a cruise ina rib 12.4 inflatable with 3 300hp outboards. They took about 40 people each, and there were 4 boats doing the trip the day we did. It was a great trip, very cold - we wore our black BB4WD jackets and the red raincoats over we were given, and were still cold! Saw lots of seals on the rocks and seals and dolphins in the water.
Unfortunately, we printed off the best photos from these days, then I deleted them from the camera, so can't put them on the blog! Dam!
I didn't realise they weren't saved to the computer!
After Snug, we went on to Port Arthur, where we met up with our friends Trevor and

South of Port Arthur
Margaret (we met them in Adelaide, and spent time with them in South Australia). It was good to catch up! They are going the opposite way around Tasmania. We had adjacent campsites in a lovely camping ground at Port Arthur, complete with fireplaces, so we had great fires each night , the two nights we were there, and sat around catching up, and swapping notes about where we have been. (Firewood was sold, cut up, $1 for a pile)
We went to Port Arthur penal colony, which was sobering, for a day, and drove around the Tasman Peninsula.
Today we all came on to Cambridge, just out of Hobart. We had a pizza dinner at the camping ground with Margaret and Trevor tonight, after entree of oysters at our van . (Oysters $8.50 doz ) Tomorrow we will leave them to head north east, up the coast.
Good to hear from Mike tonight and catch up on news of home.
Happy birthday for tomorrow to Hamish (37) and Lauren (7), have a good day, both of you.
Cheers Lynne and Chris

Port Arthur area.
Enjoyed your blog entry and good to see you managed to get down that Southern road on the D'Entrecasteaux area. Phil had a mate with a fishing trawler at Kettering so he enjoyed seeing that area. Yes Port Arthur certainly is a sobering place to visit for sure. You look well set up in the camping ground there with the fire. Lynne if you want to put some of those photos on your blog just take a photo of your photos. The canon camera does that really well. When you get to St Helen's think of us sailing across the bar there!! Have fun. Not long until we see you again.

At Coles Bay now
Hi Linda Luckily we had a CD made, as well as prints of the photos, and Trevor tells us we can probably retrieve them to the computer from that - just haven't had time to try yet. We had a lovely night in a free park at Mayfield Bay last night , had another fire too. Today we came on to Coles Bay. The camping ground on the foreshore was booked out, so we are in the Big 4 one there for 2 nights. We went to the lighthouse today at Cape Tourville and did a 4WD track to Bluestone Bay. We will walk to Wineglass Bay tomorrow. Very pretty here, and good weather. We were wondering which bar you sailed over. See you soon , Lynne

Following your travels
Hi Lynn and Chris - we so enjoy reading about all your travels and seeing the pics of places we have also been too. Sounds as though you have made some good friends along the way. Regards, Jill and Phil
