At Mannum prior to departure
Hi all
We enjoyed our Murray River Cruise on the Murray Princess with Allen and Marijke. Because the water levels are low we were a bit limited in where we could go, but we cruised from Murray bridge to Swan Reach, and they bused us up to Lock 1 at Blanchetown. One day we did a Borossa valley wine trail, just 8 of us in a minibus which was great. had lunch at Chateau Tundra winery, where we had been with Graeme and Margaret before our Simpson desert trip.
Yesterday we got off the boat at 9am, and brought Allen and Marijke back to the caravan at Mannum. We then drove them back to Adelaide, via the scenic drive through the Torrens valley. We visited the National Motor Museum, with over 300 vintage, veteran, classic and modern cars and 100 motorcycles. After lunch at Broadwood , we drove on, seeing the biggest rocking horse in the world at a toy factory, back to the coast, and drove along the shores of Adelaide. We dropped them back to their hotel, and drove back to Mannum.
Today is catch up day, washing, etc. Tomorrow we will probably head into Adelaide for a week or so. I have chipped my front tooth, which isn't a good look, so a dentist is required, which may test our travel insurance!! Hopefully I can get in somewhere there. We plan to go to Ocean Shores at Glenelg, where we stayed with G + M , drove past there yesterday and the caravan park isn't full so hope they have room for us. It's right on the beach, which is nice in the city.
Will try to post photos today too.
Chris and I are both on very strict diets now after too much good food!
Cheers Lynne

Clear water early. Carp are a nuisance, if caught they have to be kiled, not thrown back in the Murray. Some are very large.

Marijke and I went for a ride in the tender one day - I was in the front seat and got soaked as they went through the wakes - it was fun! This is the photo I got before I got too wet to use my camera.

I've been waiting to see how you got on. Looks like you all had a really good time. We will catch up with Allen and Marijke on their return and see their photos hopefully. I'm pleased you enjoyed yourselves. Den says to tell you the middle pile is now between our berths. Good luck with your tooth Lynne!
