Beautiful Daydream island on another scorching hot day.
Yesterday Hannah and I decided to take a closer look at one of the islands that made up the Whitsunday’s so we purchased return ferry tickets to Daydream Island. We took our time in getting up and getting ready because today was actually the first day we didn’t have to get up early for whatever reason. We walked all the way back to the marina at Abel Point and caught the mid-morning ferry across to stunning Daydream Island, it took around 20 minutes to get there. Daydream Island was a very small island which had one large resort with facilities open to the public. We walked around the resort past an amazing looking swimming pool to have a look at the world’s largest open air aquarium.

It was really impressive actually, full of loads of different fish, sting-rays and even sharks. But it was so hot outside the pool looked way to inviting to not get in so that’s exactly what we did. We spent most of the afternoon relaxing either in the pool or lying next to it. Later in the afternoon Hannah and I had a crack at the ‘Australian’ themed mini-golf, we only barely made it through

Welcome to Daydream Island
the 19 hole course, it was insanely hot. Straight after we were back in the beautifully refreshing pool and spent most of the afternoon in it. Before it was time to catch the last ferry back to Airlie Beach we decided to explore a little more around the resort. We found another section of the coral reef which was even better than the last one, full of fish and loads of large sting-rays and families of small sharks, it was brilliant. We jumped back on the ferry to Abel Point and walked back to our hostel. Once we were back we cooked dinner and had another early night.
