Hey!!
Hope ya all ok!!
Hmmm, what have I been up to??!!! Well, had one more night on Airlee Beach! Decided to stay in Beaches hostel this time as the last one we had stayed in on Airlee was pants! This one wasn't much better...sat on the phone to Gma and a mouse runs past my foot (sorry Gma, that was the shriek at the end of the call!).
Anyway, was gonna have one of our 'çhilled nights' but thought may as well go out for a glass of wine to say goodbye to Airlee...was best place we'd been to so far! Had nice feel to it!!! We were getting picked up by the Spas Experience bus at 7am so aimed to be tucked up in our bunks by 12am! Of course that never happened....ended up at bar called Magnums, then got talking to some Aussie guys (its all about meeting people from different cultures remember!), few more glasses of wine, and a few more! Next thing wrecked outta my face and crawling into bed at stupid hour in the morning! Lay down, blink, then had to get up for the bus! Should've seen our faces!!
We
landed lucky though...got on bus loaded with red ambulance and bacon buttie, and thank god we were the only ones on the bus for the journey! That was it...ipod hooked up, blankets out and had a comfy home for next few hours! And our poor driver Chris (who was the only decent driver we have had so far!) didn;t know what hit him! He had to stop us off at one of these stupid pointless time wasting activities that they do after 40 mins drive, and today was....whoop whoop...LAWN BOWLING!! Can't remember when I last bought a zimma frame and topped up my blue rinse! But we give it a go despite the hangover (I'm even embarrassed to say I won the first match! Not sure if thats good or bad reflection on me! hehe!)! And those who know what we're like with a hangover know that we get to the point where we turn hyper! That kinda kicked in at this point...those bowling balls gave us all a great new set of boobs and nearly put some men in a coffin! They needed to loosen up anyhow!
Then terrorised Chris some more on the bus and got him
to take us to a zoo..well, he thought it was a zoo but turned out it was just a waterfall...and a trickle at that! But bless him for trying! Ha!!
Then we were dumped in Rockhampton for 9 hours! We should've been going to a Cattle Shed with Spas Exp as this is another one of their pointless compulsory stops! But no way were us 3 going to stay in no cattle shed (unless they let us paint a cow pink, but apparantly that counts as animal cruelty!)! So we paid to get another bus to Hervey bay instead (thanks Oz Exp...already skint!)! But had to wait 9 hours til it came! In this inbred tiny town...was strangest place! Looked around the shops...actually, thats a lie...looked around the shoP, sat in a pub for as long as we could make 1 drink stretch, then walked back to bus station! Was bit dodgy in the area (guy pulled up to us in a car and looked like he was gonna try and grab us! Hurled loads of abuse at us when we chose to ignore him! Eeek!), so us wimps decided not to leave the station for the next 5
hours til the bus got there! Fun!
Over night bus then finally in Hervey Bay! Woohoo! Stayed at the Beaches resort there too which was cool! Hervey Bay not what expected, thought it would be quite lively but was just a quiet sea side resort really! The beach was gorgeous!!! And what a good idea, they have free gym equipment along the beach front for anyone to use (even weight machines!)...see its the small things like this that England lacks!
On the 2nd day we booked onto a whale watching boat trip! Apparantly every Sept the whales migrate from the north of Oz to the Antartica, and Hervey Bay is their resting place on the way! So there's hundreds of them out there! Had a really good day!Only 20 or so people on the boat which was nice and people who ran it were cool! We got to see our first whale really close up- felt like could stretch out and touch it! And was quite playful! But then moved to new location and the whales didn't really wanna get close! Which was a shame, but could still see them and their babies! Was cool! Nik had been
bugging to swim with them the whole way there (but apparantly your not allowed as scares them off!), so the next best thing was for the owner to let down a net at the back of the boat, then you get into the sea and hang onto it as he sails off! Was well funny! Felt like a moving jaquzzi!
Then on the last day we chilled on the beach! Now waiting to be picked up by the Spas bus again!
On our way to Brisbane now!! Woohoo!!!
Miss ya all!
