Hey Yall! Hope your all ok! Well things have changed again! I'm now back in Sydney!!!! Yep, just can't keep away from the place! nah, loved the Gold Coast (esp. the hot weather) but 10 weeks with no work and too much nightlife tempting you caused a massive dint in my bank account! Tried to find a job but not easy at all up there! It only had part time work with no guaranteed hours! Think coz it's a touristy place they are reluctant to give travellers jobs as they know they will do one in a few weeks time! Fair enough, but no good for me! Tried everything, even cleaning jobs, but got rejected for lack of experience!! what??? They obviously don't know how messy baz was, got more than enough experience cleaning up after ... read more

Bula!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Fiji for hello incase you couldn't suss that one!) Well, just got back from 5 days of pure chilling in Fiji and it was absolutely amazing...by far the most laid back and beautiful place I have ever been too! Loved every second of it! Me and sar flow on Thurs afternoon and got to Nadi (the main island) at teatime...we had to saty there one night as the boats to the islands weren't leaving til the next morning! So booked into Smuggler Cove hostel and settled for the night! Was good night of sitting by the bar over looking the sea necking of Fiji Gold's (surprisingly nice cheap beer!)...met a few people there...an Aussie guy called Adam who was pretty call, and Gary from...go on, take a guess, yep, he was a Hullian! Hey all! Well, we've finally left Sydney!! Had to be done...we had been there for nearly 4 months, working and partying!!! And not good staying places for too long as start to get settled and attached to the place! Had an amazing time in Sydney, so much to do, our friends and Ste came over which was wicked, and had so many other friends there - some from Huds and loads who we'd met along the way (many from Thailand...was good to see them again!)!!! But weather was turning pretty dismal and our project ended which meant we were outta a job! So time to go... So here we are in Surfers Paradise! Hey you's!! Sorry not been updating my blog recently....I am alive!!!! Just been busy and not had much time to get on the net and update this thing really! Don't know where to start with the update as has been so long!! So gonna try and do it in sections... HOUSE Yep, after all the stress of trying to find a place, finally found somewhere!! It is a place called Rose Bay on the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney...and its a really nice area! We get the strangest looks when people ask us where we live and we say Rose Bay...not renowned for having backpackers there and suppose to be very upper class...Ozzies call it 'Nose Bay' as people are up their own arses!! Woohoo!!! New South Wales!!!! Hey!! Hows the weather in England? Bet getting bit colder now??? We've just left Bryon Bay and have had a wicked week! Prob my fav place on the East Coast so far! We started off staying at the famous Arts factory...and what a mental hostel! It is set on the outskirts of Byron Bay in a woodland area! The rooms are really basic (literally a bed and a bin in the room and nothing else which seemed to depress Nik!) Some of the rooms were made from an old bus which they had converted...wanted to stay in that but was full! You weren't even allowed to use your hairdryer in your room - got fined if you got caught! Hey you's!! Hope your all well!! Well Surfers Paradise really lived up to its recommendations!!! It was amazing!!! In fact, the further down the coast we go the better it gets (although the colder it gets too...but prob not even that cold! Still in late 20's- we're just used to Thailand I guess!)! Anyway, arrived at Surfers late afternoon and booked into Surf and Sun Backpackers! This was cool little hostel! People there were really friendly and the place was small and nice! Had one other guy in the room who was Brazilian - he has to be the best room mate we have had so far! He was really funny and chilled out! G'day! Hope ya all good and not too cold in England! Wierd that your all going into winter and we're going into summer! Makes it hard to remember what month it is...I still think its July time!! Anyway I'll stop rubbing it in and update ya... Left Hervey Bay and had to stop at yet another pointless compulsory stop (now can ya see why we hate the bus, we just want to get there not be forced to spend nights at places we don't want to see!). This time it was Rainbow Beach! The journey from Hervey only took 1.5 hours, but then we had to stay at Rainbow even though it was 7pm by time we got there (and we were leaving at 7.30am) so didn't really have time to see any of it! Hey!! Hope ya all ok!! Hmmm, what have I been up to??!!! Well, had one more night on Airlee Beach! Decided to stay in Beaches hostel this time as the last one we had stayed in on Airlee was pants! This one wasn't much better...sat on the phone to Gma and a mouse runs past my foot (sorry Gma, that was the shriek at the end of the call!). Anyway, was gonna have one of our 'çhilled nights' but thought may as well go out for a glass of wine to say goodbye to Airlee...was best place we'd been to so far! Had nice feel to it!!! We were getting picked up by the Spas Experience bus at 7am so aimed to be tucked up in our bunks by 12am! Of course that never happened....ended up ... read more
