The Gold Digger
James just cant resist... Day 17
It was another hot day in Paradise, we spent most of the day relaxing and the boys went for a nice swim while I stayed at the house and did some laundry and tiding up! They both agreed that the water was nice although it was a bit rough. No one is complaining about all the down time since we will be leaving here next Friday and there will be a lot of things to do! At about 5 o’clock we headed to the pub Kristin works at so that we would arrive shortly before she would be getting off work. Joel spent the day at the horse races so we ended up meeting him at the pub as well. A few drinks turned into a few more and before we knew it, we were all pretty drunk! They had a live band which Sean really enjoyed, and at about 10 o’clock we decided that we should go get something to eat and head home! We ended up getting Kebabs which were amazingly delicious. Although in my drunk state I was the messiest eater out of everyone, I had tons of sauce all down the front of my

Day 18
Let the gong show begin, Today James and Sam both arrived by train to Brisbane station at a red-eyed time of 6:30am, but I didn’t care, I didn’t have to pick him up!! HAHA, Jackie and her sister drove to get them. At about 9am they all arrived back at Kristin and Joel's apartment and after a few introductions it was off to the ocean for the all important first dip, the water is still a stunning 23* and the sun is always beating down on us. It turned out to be a short swim due to the fact James was not a fan of the salt flavour… oh well. You do build up immunity to it. At about noon we found ourselves back on public transit heading back into surfers to drop James and Sam off at there hostel, Backpackers in Paradise, a nice place

repeat posing. I must add. 23 a night for the 14 room dorm so there getting a decent deal while they wait for us to get a truck and get out of town and start exploring the country. We enjoyed a nice walk through the strip in downtown and sat on the beach and enjoyed the scenery. Later that night we were supposed to all meat at the pub for drinks but James and Sam got separated and never arrived, but that’s okay. Better luck next time.
Day 19
Well this day sure started out rough, a call from mom stating that James’ bank card was froze and he couldn’t contact us. So basically for me that meant putting on the shoes and making another 6km jaunt to surfers. This was enjoyable, even with the heat. This is also where I encountered a flying fox colony, and it was huge, at least 100-200 bats. Way cool. After meeting James at the hostel and sorting the issue out it was back on foot to pancakes in paradise, all you can eat pancakes for 8 bucks. They were amazing. Lol. Sam Hopped a ride back to the apartment and from there

another spider.. not the biggest yet though met with Jackie and Sean to bring them to the mall. Where we relaxed while I hunted for a book on bush camping grounds, which we did find, I will be heading back tomorrow to pick it up. It lists all the free sites since I am cheap. LOL. We enjoyed an amazing meal of homemade hamburger helper thanks to Jackie. On a final note for the night tomorrow we finally get to pick the suv up form the shop. Woohoo!! Can’t wait, then we can get this trip a going!!!
