Day 20
We got up about 7:15 - the church has virtually no blinds/curtains so the sun was streaming in about 4am thank god BA gave us the freebie masks!!
We were both munched to death in the night so went on the look for a pharmacy with no joy so went off to the zoo! We had a fabulous day seeing all the animals and a few shows! Took far too many pictures! Fancy that!
We went in the kangaroo areas and gave them a tickle behind the ear'ole very cute! We also had a picture with a koala! Who poo'd on me! Charming!
My new love is of Wombats so very cute, so my lovely hubby bought me a cuddly one in the shop and we have called him Willie! 😊
We came back to the lodge to quickly shower and change before going to Beerwah's carol concert.
We arrived at the sportsground just after 5, all posters said 5, but nothing actually started until 6:30! So we went to find somewhere for dinner. We went to the Beerwah hotel! I had Beef ribs in sticky plum sauce and hubby has a TBone steak!!
About 7 we arrived back to the carol concert which was lovely - the classics and some modern ones! I never realised 'home' by Michael Bauble was originally written as a Christmas song! It's fab! They of course had the local kiddos do the nativity - we all know how that story turns out!
THEN oh my days the first of 2 highlights of the evening, Aussie Jingle Bells! I love it....!

AUSTRALIAN JINGLE BELLS Dashing through the bush, in a rusty Holden Ute, Kicking up the dust, esky in the boot, Kelpie by my side, singing Christmas songs, It's Summer time and I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey! Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut !, Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute. Engine's getting hot; we dodge the kangaroos, The swaggie climbs aboard, he is welcome too. All the family's there, sitting by the pool, Christmas Day the Aussie way, by the barbecue. Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey! Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!, Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute. Come the afternoon, Grandpa has a doze, The kids and Uncle Bruce, are swimming in their clothes. The time comes 'round to go, we take the family snap, Pack the car and all shoot through, before the washing up. Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day, Hey! Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!, Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute

Then the town councillor came on lead everyone in a prayer (!) then counted down to the fireworks! They were quite spectacular! 7 minutes solid of fireworks! (Poor local animals 😞 I hope they're OK)

Tis now time for beebize
