Clay with a Python, on Magnetic Island
Well travelling on from Cairns was a bit of a relief for us, as we had been living in John'O land..which is the caravan park we lived in for almost two months owned by pshcho John'O who just frothed over the only power he's obviously ever had in life, by kicking people out of his park just for fun.

Anyhoo, our first destination was Far North Queensland's Atherton Tablelands which are riddled with one amazing waterfall after another submerged in lush rainforest. We camped along a river our first night where little birds swooped and drank from the little pools in front of us, and a freaky little spotted possum darted around us eating dinner at night.

We headed to Townsville the take off point to Magnetic Island. The weather was a bit drab but that didn't stop us from doing some serious walking around the island to view it's lovely bays old war ruins. And of course the main attraction and highlight was falling upon the gorgeous koalas! I couldn't believe our luck seeing a mama and her baby, I couldn't stop smiling, it was the most beautiful interaction with wildlife I've ever had, minus everyone taking photos

of the poor thing.

From there we trekked on to the Whitsundays where our "sailboat" didn't actually sail but we had great time anyway. Whithaven beach is nothing short of paradise, the sand is like sugar, I rolled around in it like a snow angel...lol, and I generally dislike sand. We frolicked in the waters and absorbed the beauty. After that we got pretty intoxicated, what else are to do on a boat right? Made some friends, made some enemies...and slept in a room right by the toilet. Yah if you ever have to sleep on a boat...demand the room farthest from the loo, as after the first day you will want to vomit when entering your sleeping quarters.

After detoxing for a few days and sunbathing in the Town of 1770 we headed to Fraser Island to get back into group party mode. Driving a 4x4 in the sand was great fun, Clay was in his glory and got us out of a few bogs, he was definitley an A class driver. A few of us also took a turn at the wheel, which was a little dramatic but great fun. We witnessed the world famous Lake

Mackenzie, stood at Indian Head for a great view of the bays below and even saw some massive manta rays in the sea. We set up camp where the dingos were near and decided to risk a massive fine by having a fire because it was bloody cold! What's camping without a fire right? So we stayed up drinking goon by the fire enjoying the serenity of it all!
