Dear Grace and Mag,
This will be a long one because I've got lots of photos and a lot of time has passed since my last one. So much has happened in the last 4 months I don't now where to start. I have to tell you about my friends, about how weird it is that I have a new beautiful niece that I haven't met yet, about my sponsorship offer and not to mention that I have fallen for an amazing person who can not stay in the same country as me! Yep... nice one Jess! :P
I really love skyping you Grace but it is so strange to see you holding little Evalyn in your arms and I haven't met her yet. Because she's so good it's like you're holding a doll hehe. I didn't realise you can love someone without meeting them first but she is prove that you can. I love her so much as I hope you know.
Basically, the past 4 months have been so unbelievably amazing, I can't really put it into words. I have been 110% living my dream. I am so lucky. My housemates have become my closest friends
and will be for life, we all get on so well and laugh a lot together. Reminds me of being at Uni. Also at work I have become really close to people and feel like I have created a proper life for myself here. It's great! A lot of the photos from this entry will be party ones. They are a mixture of housemates, work people and other visitors. Sophie and Nikki (met them in Sydney and probably mentioned them before) came here for a week before they continued on their travels to see the rest of the country and it was so good to see them..had a good laugh. Also one night a group of us went to Dundees for dinner. That was funny because my colleagues stitched me up and pretended it was my birthday so everyone sang and played the song over the entire restaurant! Embarrassing but funny!
Back in July I went to Fitzroy Island with Emily and Claudia. The weather wasn't even that good on this particular day but wow! It's stunning! I was sitting on the beach feeling so lucky to live somewhere I can hop on a boat for 40mins and get
off in paradise. It's the typical picture of turquoise water, white sand and coconut trees everywhere. A week or 2 after that me and Emily picked her friend up from the airport and went to Josephine Falls and Babinda Boulders. At the falls was really good - there was a proper swimming hole and the huge rocks had a really smooth surface where the water runs down so we used it as a slide! hehe The water was very cold as all the falls are but was fun! We were just like kids in a water park! After we drove to Babinda to see the boulders there. You can't swim here but it's really beautiful. It's hard for me to describe them and do them justice so I think it's best just to look at the photos. I will try and title some of them.
Throughout August I was completely on cloud 900! Things were going really well with Mr. F, my friends and I were so tight and I was just loving life! (I still am but August was amazing) Another factor that contributed to this was the fact that I did something I NEVER thought I would
do and felt a massive personal achievement...a SKYDIVE! I actually chose to jump out of an aeroplane! Me! Lucia, my housie saw me at the lagoon with Mr. F on the Monday and asked me if I was going to do it with them. Before I could think I said yes! If I stopped to think the answer might have been different haha then the very next morning at 10.30 we jumped! It's such an amazing feeling, I would recommend it to anyone. And funnily enough you feel really safe. I did it with Clauida, Emily and Lucia which was perfect timing as Claudia had to leave 3 days later to go home and Meli and Lu were planning to move on soon after that.
One of my gorgeous friends from work, Jenna was also due to leave so Mel, Jenna and myself had a really good beach day, had beers, lunch and sunbathed followed by a cocktail night at Mel's. Felt like I was on holiday! That's the beauty of living here...you are working yes but as soon as you make the most of your 2 days off you are on holiday again! The day after I met
the guys from work for a Brazilian BBQ. More drinking and more eating and of course, more laughing!
I had an amazing day out to Kuranda with Mr. F and the night finished the day perfectly with a dinner date together and he really kindly gave me a gorgeous necklace and earrings as we both knew he would have to leave soon too 😞 The day was really good apart from the fact that he loves birds! I don't mind them but I wasn't as happy as he was when the birds were jumping on my head and shoulders. Especially when they started making a nest with my hair and got angry when someone tried to get the off! haha Was funny though. Mr. F couldn't help me due to the fact that he was laughing too much! Was a really good day but I always have a good day with him. We get on so well, like 2 peas in a pod because we both have the worst jokes that we find really funny. And we really enjoy winding each other up!
A few weeks before he was due to leave he asked me to go with
him to Bali which was a stop he was planning to make on his way home. I didn't really consider it and said no straight away. Then it got to a few days before he was due to leave and he asked again which got me thinking...Why not! So I went to book my flights and 8 days later I was in Bali!
Now I'm back in Cairns after the most amazingly perfect 10days. Had a really good night with Emily on Tuesday - her last night so she's gone now too. I'm not worried though as I know I will see her in Melbourne and if not New Zealand next year. Right now I plan to work, work, work and move to Melbourne in about 4weeks. Who knows though, I could move back to Cairns one day. I love it here.
