Team Habibi
The gang aboard the Habibi on our Whitsundays sailing Nursing our hangovers from the previous night's shinaningans, we got up bright and early and drove up to Magnetic Island. Upon our arrival we bumped into Hendrik the German, who we met on the Habibi, aswell as a couple of Swedes, and spent the evening playing volleyball - followed by a fire on the beach. All very nice.
The next morning we rented mountain bikes and explored the Island's various beaches and walks in search of koalas. We didn't spot any but had a good time none the less, chilling out and soaking up a few rays. That evening we went for a Burger King with the Swedes (very romantic) and then headed north to Cairns. After a long night's driving, and about 10 minutes from our night stop, we were pulled over by the fuzz and issued a ticket for "speeding". The less said about that the better.
Another little drive north the following day and we found ourselves at Cape Tribulation; a world heritage site and one of very few places where the rainforest meets the beach. All very beautiful. Another day on the beaches though unfortunately this time the rays were nowhere to be seen. That
Humpback
We passed a pair of Humpback wales sailing on the second day. evening we went on a guided walk in the rainforest for a bit of crocadile spotting. Yet again we were unsuccesful but we did manage to stumble upon a python which was pretty groovy.
We're now on the final leg of our oz adventure, just a couple of nights in Cairns before jetting off to New Zealand. Should be "sweet as!". Until then.
