280 meters
Day 37
We got off to an early start today, we were all packed and on the road by 8:30, way to go group!! Better than my 9am guess. We had about 300 or so km to get under our belt today and that left us with a slightly tight time limit. First on our list for the day was Wallaman Falls national park with a 280 meter waterfall. Let me tell you the views were stunning, it was sunny and the falls had good flow. It was about a 4km round hike to the bottom and back up. (note to self - 4km in the rain forest requires more water, so after Jackie almost fainted form the heat we made it to the truck to enjoy a nice glass of cool water and we were back on our little voyage north. We arrived around 5pm in Babinda and drove out to the boulders to try to get a spot but the site was filled so we hit the other free site and it only had cold showers… which for me is not an issue but others complained. LOL. So it was a 30km back track to bramston beach to a pay site, but we ended up getting a deal so it was not that bad, 30 for 5 people instead of the normal 50-60 some sites charge. We didn’t get through the day 100% though, we ended up getting a flat on the way which we swapped for our spare. It held till the campground
