Bago
Bye Shannon, thanks for having us! It was mostly a travelling day today. We left Shan’s place just after 6 am. She was off to work so we headed off at the same time. As always it was very hard to say goodbye… Wish ALL the family could always be together….
Goodbye goldcoast, we WILL be back! Traffic wasn’t too bad for peak hour. We had a breaky stop near Caboolture and back on the road. I took to the knitting (between dozing!). Nearly finished my jumper! We weren’t sure how far to go but Rob was okay to keep driving so we arrived in Bundaberg around midday. It was there we realised we weren’t far from Agnes Water! Have heard so much about this place so we agreed to drive on.
So here we are. We are in a place called Workmans Beach Camping area. Its amazing! It’s kind of free camping but the ranger may come round and collect $6 in the morning. Its surrounded by bush, has an outdoor shower and clean toilets. Goannas and bush turkeys running around.
I think we would be the only people that may be slightly ‘grey nomad’ Plenty of hippy types. We’ve parked next to
Ettamogah
The old Ettamogah pub! a very hippy old man from Egypt. Pretty sure he’s smoking something, and he’s playing the Doors on his Ipad.
The beach is a walk through the bush down hill. Its astounding! The photos don’t look great because the sun was going down. We’ll take better ones tomorrow.
So our first real night ‘camping’ and we’ve struck gold! Its exactly as I’d imagined it would be. I’ll add the photos but pretty sure tomorrows will surpass these. We will stay here tomorrow too and walk into the next town called 1770. Yep what a name for a town! Cant wait to see it. Thanks Waza for the tip!
