Day 1 -Darwin to King River Rest Area

Day 1
We finally left Darwin at 8pm. After 2 years of planning we finally off for our adventure to WA. We sms to Andre and Linda as were our plan to let each other know where we are on the trip. Andre and Linda left at 5pm that day but were heading to Perth via Kunnunarra. We are to meet at Esperance in 7 days to begin the actual adventure. Our first stop was King River rest stop south of Katherine. It’s a roadside stop with pit toilets. The trip was uneventful with only an Easter random breath test at Pine Creek. I fuelled up at United at Katherine and I wish to warn people of their terrible toilet. Firstly there were no lights and secondly when you flush everything shoots out like a fountain. I was drenched from knees down to my shoes. We set up camp at 12am and in bed at 12.15am.
