Off course the crocodiles here are fenced in.
On the way to Litchfield we stayed at Douglas Daly Tourist Park. We had it all to ourselves, very nice gardens and great spots to fish or swim on the Douglas River. Peter tried to catch some prawns, he only got one in the pot which we made into an omlette for breakfast. The Douglas Hot Springs are nearby so we went to have a look and maybe a swim. Way Too Hot! There is a sign warning that the thermal spring is very hot but of course we had to test for ourselves. We reackon it is almost at boiling point. Up the river it is better and good for swiming.

Litchfield has some great water holes and falls for swimming. We went for a dip in Florence Falls, it is well worth the 150 steps down into it. It was a bit hard to get in over all the slippery rocks and I have to admit I freaked out about the not so shy black bream in the water all come over to visit you. Peter was busy telling me to get into the deeper water where there was no fish swarming around when he got bit by

There was bottles of wine and beer on display in the fridge teasing us but we couldn't buy any...no staff around, ever.
a crayfish! Anyway it took me three days for my calf muscles to recover after the 150 steps back up, I am so unfit!

After Litchfield we stayed at Tumbling Waters Holiday Park. Once again we were the only ones there. It is a very lovely park with an outdoor cinema, cafe and a lagoon with crocodiles! Unfortunately the cafe was not operating in the wet! Oh well we like it when there is less people around.
