Day 47 (Saturday 06/06/09, NJJ)
Up at 6.45am to walk to collection point for 7.20am for day trip to Litchfield National Park. First stop was Window on the Wetlands centre - informative but not how we wanted t spend time. Had toasted sandwiches and wedges for lunch at a tourist park. Afterwards we got to visit the termite mounds which although sound boring were cool because of their size. Next on to Tolmer Falls -pretty. Then to Wangi Falls where we had an hour to relax and go in the plunge pool which was great. The water was the perfect temperature to cool off in the heat of the day ad the surroundings were beautiful. Our guide advised us later on that there are crocodiles at the pool but that they're not deemed as a threat to humans as they are freshies (not the large ones and they're shy) and only visit the pool at night. Last stops were at Florence Falls, no time to stop there, and a few World War Two airstrips. In the evening we had Thai take away for dinner before bed.
