Sydney -Sunday

We left on Sunday to go south of Sydney along the coast taking in Stanwell Park, Bulli Pass Wollongong,Gerringong and Bowral,Eddie doing the driving.
At Stanwell Prak stopped to see the Hang Gliders and Para Gliders, rather them than me, and view the magnificent Stanwell Park Beach.
Then moved onto Woollangong (some amazing names ,probably Aboriginal).
Three canons were placed here in in1880as part of the defence of the harbour.they fired a 31kg solid shot ball up to 1600 metres, they were manned by the local citizens of NSW.
It was then back in the car onto 7 Mile Beach (Australia is now metric but 11.2klms Beach doesn't sound the same ) at Gerringong to the Fisherman's Club for lunch.I treated myself to Oysters ,very good, mm.
After lunch passed through Kangaroo Valley and stopped off to view Fitzroy Falls ,and then for me a very special treat to Bowral.
Bowral is the birthplace of the greatest Test Batsman ever,Sir Donald Bradman For those of you not into Cricket,"The Don"averaged 99.6 runs per Test Match in the 52 Tests he played the nearest player at the moment is M.E.K.Hussey yet another Australian with 79.85 runs in 16 tests,The next nearest

1000 metres up
are in the 60's mark.Over 40 runs average is regarded as the mark of a quality Test batsman.
Had "The Don"scored 4 runs in his last match his average would have been 100 ,but he was out for "Duck"(zero)such is Cricket.
His average is never likely to be approached let along beaten.
Unfortunately the museum was closed but I did see the ground where it all started and there was a magnificent bronze of the great man.
From there we return home to Sydney,a most enjoyable day.
Tomorrow into the City toto arrange my two adventures

1.The Harbour Cruise

2."Sydney Bridge Climb"
