The beautiful opera house
Nat:

Our flight into Sydney was real cool, had good food and good films (although i felt a bit sick as i ate too much) and took us about 9 hours to get there but it wizzed by.

We were welcomed into Australia by a real Australian, well thats what we thought anyway. "G'day mate" said the first guy behind the desk that we had encountered. He checked our passports and allowed us into his country.

We had to declare the snake wine which we had bought from Vietnam, we wasn't going to as we were afraid that they were going to take it off us, and that they did!!! We had to declare it as if they found it we could have been fined a few bob.
They took it off us and we left the airport, sad and with no snake wine 😞 We did get a cool document saying that it's not allowed into the country though, so that was cool!

We were lucky enough to have friends pick us up from the airport and then show us a few sights of the city! It was freezing! Having just come from Bangkok,

we weren't used to the cooler weather!

After this we had some shark and chips for lunch (everyday occurrence for the Aussies) and then headed back to Josh's house who we were staying with. That night we met Josh's family who are super sweet, and they whacked the barbie on the go! It was great, introduced to Australia the right way.

After the delish meal of roo (hehe i could only dream) we hit the town. We went to a pub north of sydney and managed to get loads of free drinks all night long :D We didn't have to pay for any, we were smashed! we also met heaps of cool people (some not so cool). After this we went to a V.I.P bar that some famous people go to when they're in Sydney, for e.g. Paris Hilton and Owen Wilson. Then we polished the night off with gourmet food from Maccies and fell asleep in the car on the way back to Josh's. Brilliant.

The next day we went and watched Josh play footie and i met coco the cutest dog ever (i wont forget you coco). After, me and Nike took a trip to

Sydneys most famous icons
the local shopping centre to buy some clothes lol we didn't have any winter clothes!! we were froze! Then after we just rented a true Australian classic from Blockbusters called CHOPPER (it has to be in capitals trust me) it's the craziest film i have ever seen! Check it out.

We also stayed with Jenny for 3 nights she was real nice! She lives in Kings cross which is meant to be the seedy part of Sydney but we were used to that anyway especially after Bangkok, Amsterdam and Great Bridge! She lives in the nice part so we were lucky! While staying with Jen we went to bondi beach where we watched the surfers, we also did a bit more shopping, more sightseeing and hit a comedy club, where they found out we were 'poms', needless to say we were comedic fodder for the rest of the night, but it was all in good fun!

We really liked Sydney, its a really beautiful city and the people are really friendly, but we had to move on to Australias capital, Canberra!
