Greetings Travel Fans! Today was my first experience of a Sydney beach in Manly! Its a very quiet beach as most of the tourists head to Bondi. Caught a few rays and bought a pair of thongs (flip flops). Got a ferry there which gave me a view of a bit more of Sydney. Also booked something very exciting today - a Neighbours trivia night for next Monday where apparently Toadie, Harold and Dr Karl will be. Going to try and persuade someone I've met at the hostel to go with me as he's going to Melbourne on Friday. Got to calm myself down before then

Yesterday went to an Aussie rules match between the Sydney Swans (nearly bad as Aston Unicorns!) and the West Coast Eagles with the hostel. The Swannies won and have the Eagles only their second defeat of the season. Was played at the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground) and was great to see the famous pavillion up close and personal. After the game everyone was allowed on to the pitch to play Kick to Kick which is take a football on to the pitch and play with all your mates plus a few thoasand other people! Flipping lethal.

Day before went to Taronga zoo which gave beautfiful views over the harbour. One rule that should be brought in is banning all push chairs. Kept getting rammed up the achillies or tripping over them.

Off to Paramatta tomorrow on the ferry. Going to have a gentle cruise before my trek through the Grand Canyon in the Blue Mountains. Got to be at another hostel by 8am to be picked up.I havent seen 8am so far, so will be interesting if I make it.

Have a new dorm mate who speaks no English so taken to staying in the hostel lounge watching the cricket with my old man fan club!
