Woke up and checked the e mail surprise the invitation letter was waiting,so threw the cup of tea away and collected all the documents and caught the bus to the city then another bus out to Woolomroo where the Russian embassy is, They only open from 9:15-12 noon, Got there at ten and applied for the visa, the person in front of me said the normal processing and was told pick up would be 26th Feb, I asked for Tuesday 13th and visa cost $140 AUS. I then returned to the hostel and had a lazy afternoon and packed small rucksack for the trip to Alice Springs and I am leaving the big rucksack in the storeroom at the hostel. The newspaper headlines is boat bought in land by tornado in Queensland, Looks like I got out of Cairns just right.
