Living The Dream Hi All
Hmm haven't really got that much to tell you all as the last two weeks have really been all about finding a job, which I now have managed to do! Hurrah! It’s a receptionist job in a real estate place! The only downside is that it’s not in the city but at least I’ll be earning money at long last!
The 5th of Jan we spent looking at houses and managed to find two bedrooms in two houses next to each other which was really lucky! We have to share a bedroom between two which isn’t great but I think everywhere here on a short term basis is the same! It’s annoying though as you know they’re making an absolute packet!!
The room for me and Hannah wasn’t available until the 10th so we moved into a hostel just round the corner that is owned by the same people from the 6th until the 10th! The room was really hot and we had bunk beds which is never good thing but at least we weren’t in dorms which would have been awful! One night, Hannah had got up to go to the loo and she said
through the door, “Julie are you still in bed? Don’t move a massive cockroach has just gone into the room!!” Eugh!! A boy outside had been trying to flick it at Hannah and his girlfriend but it had gone under our door instead! So we made him come in and get it. Apparently it was massive but I didn’t see it! It made me think though. I wonder how many other bugs sneak around our stuff unnoticed, little buggers! Anyway, that Friday we went to a BBQ at the hostel which was fun and then out into town to Side bar but didn’t stay out long.
Saturday, I really can’t remember what we did in the day, probably just more stuff finding a job! That night we went out to a rock club in Kingscross that was really sweaty! It was a good night though, lots of fun and we met some really nice people!
Then Sunday, got up really late and then got ready to go out again, this time for a leaving do for the people whose room we were taking, if that makes sense! We played drinking games at the house first which was really
A Motley Crew
These are the two houses combined, but this is before me and Hannah moved in! funny and then headed out to a gay bar and club! The bar was wicked, the Columbian, and the club was good too but was really gay! Everyone in there had their tops off and there was a drag show and stuff! On the way home I got in a trolley and predictably fell out! I have a massive bruise and it still hurts a week later, but I had a kebab and that made up for it!! One of the guys also got naked and ran down the street shouting, (I didn’t look dad I promise!) and some men in a white van got slightly more than what they bargained for!!!
Then Monday I registered with an agency and applied for loads of jobs, Tuesday, I think I did the same, nothing exciting happened as far as I can recall. Then Wednesday we went to Coogee beach, yey!! It was lovely and really hot! I burnt my bum as for some reason I didn’t put sun cream there! It really hurts but at least I have proper white bits again! However, I was wearing my biggest bikini so I’m going to look a right nob when we next
On T' Beach
Coogee that is! go to the beach and I wear smaller bottoms!! Thursday, I applied for more jobs on the internet and rang around loads of agencies, and managed to get three to accept my CV and appointments to register with two. And then Friday I went to those appointments and got a job, hurrah!!!!
So last night we went out for a leaving do for one of the boys next doors (for the girls, it was for an exceptionally attractive German boy!). We went to an Irish bar first then another bar, where the drinks were really expensive! I spoke to a guy and asked him if he knew where there was anything cheaper and he turned out to be the promoter and so gave us 2-4-1 drinks! Then we went to meet some friends we’d met a few nights before and went to two really good indie/rock bars where everyone seemed to be an up and coming musician! Then back to their house for a small party! I was on the decks demonstrating perfectly how not to mix and also different music types that should never be mixed, but hey I enjoyed myself and it kept me out of mischief!!
And that brings me to today! I haven’t done anything today, at all! I only left the house to get some diet coke and a pick-a-mix! Shame as well as it’s been really sunny but I had a banging headache and personally I blame the 2-4-1 drinks, and the tequila!! Could have gone to the beach with Shiv as well but missed her call and text which is annoying!
Anyway, as I said not too much to report but I absolutely love Sydney! We’re having lots of fun and our house is so close to the centre that we’re never further than a short walk from anything! The people are all really friendly and everyone’s got time to chat and find out what you’re doing! And the weather’s picking up which is even better!!
So, keep in touch and I hope you’re all ok and stuff!!
Take care
Lots of love

Ooh P.S. Photos coming really shortly I promise, I just need to find somewhere to get them put onto disc!!!
