Tamarama Beach
hi, I found a place to live last week and moved in today. Its an apartment in a high rise building so the views are pretty good. There is 2 gyms and 2 swimming pools in the basement. I have a lot of room mates but its close to impossible to find a single or double room thats not too much money here. The cost of living is higher, especially for americans with our dollar but im getting used to it. i also got a cell phone today... not that i you can really call me on it from the states. It was kinda nice not having a computer or cell phone in front of me all the time feeling obligated to check for missed calls or emails.

I went to many beaches this past week and a half. Bondi beach... probably the most popular one in syndey but there seemed to be blue bottle jelly fish in the water so i stayed out on this last trip out there. Also went to Manly beach, i liked it better... more shopping, but nicer beach, lots of beach volleyball and surfing. Went up to Elizabeth beach and Seal rocks to surf
Sydney University Sydney University Sydney University

Building in the quad at school, one of the most photographed buildings in the southern hemisphere i was told
for a few days, the conditions were good but changeling but it was fun... havent gone surfing for such a long time but still remembered how. Mary and I saw some kangaroos one night when walking back to our cabin...we were very excited about this and then saw some more in the morning in the grass field near by. The surf trip was pretty fun, i got lots of mosquito bites and bruises and a little sun burn too.

there is probably more to say but i cant think of much now... enjoy the pictures!

Important Stuff
Hey Megan! I see they don't use upper case letters in Australia either....hmmm! I'm glad you've got a place to live and I think it sounds exciting living in a high rise. Important question....has your stash of granola bars run out yet or have you had to each actual Australian food? How are the vegemite sandwiches? Do they have PEEPS there? Keep posting. Keep surfing. Keep smiling. Love, Aunt Boonie

Southern Cross
Meggie, Have you been able to spot the Southern Cross in the sky? It is one of my favorite star formations. The Southern Cross is the star formation on the Australian flag and can only be seen in the Southern Hemisphere. I learned today, that your area was redeveloped for the 2000 Olympics. He also told me that he stayed at a small hotel on Pitt Street, and in the Bondi Junction area. Hope to get more news from you soon. Have you tried Vegemite? Love, G Sally

Kangaroos run wild?
Megan: great photos! Thanks for including the Sydney Opera House for the architects among us. I was surprised to hear that kangaroos wander around freely in Sydney. Don't let school interfere too much with your surfing!

UP!
What's it like living with everything upside down? Glad to hear all is going well so far. Hope you get a chance to go see Buff Hungerland. I think she's in great surfing territory. Gary
