Hello everybody!!!
Its been a long while since i last wrote.
Be completely sweeped up by it all.
I know i haven't finished Asia in my blog yet but am so far behind that i thought i'd write a little email to let everyone know what i'm doing right now...
I left Thailand on the 25th of May 10 days after my planned departure, i decided because i would now only have 5days in Australia that i would fly straight to Sydney to see Katie and skip Melbourne out.
When my plan landed at 6am the weather outside was 2degrees... I'd been on the plane for 12hours and unfortunately been unable to sleep
Even though i'd put on trousers and all my warm layers, when i passed though those sliding doors the cold hit me like a ghost travelling though my body.
The hour ride on the shuttle bus was filled with chill and anticipation.
As i look out of the widow at the world around i felt as though i had arrived back in London, Sydney is such a big city and like London is in full throw at 6.30am like London the road
are full of cars and the streets packed with people.
Ayslum is the name of my first travelling hostel. In Asia i stayed in beach huts and resorts, i found no where like a hostel. So at 7.30am when i arrived huge 25kg backpack in tow at Ayslum i really wasn't sure what to expect.
I was greeted at reception by a rather lanky English guy who seemed a little too awake for me at that time.
After giving over a weeks budget in Thailand for 3nights at this hostel i crept to the common room where i wait till 12 for a bed to be free and ready.
B5 my room number, i never thought it would be an acrenom for boy five. My first hostel room and i was with five guys. This of course was not a problem for me as i can get along with anyone and most of my time traveling i've done so with a guy.
On my first full day in Sydney i went to the Aquarium... It was soo amazing. A short 30min walk from the hostel i spent 4hours gazing at colourful fish, sea stars, sea houres,
sharks, wales, dolphins and giant tortoises.
The next day Katie came to my hostel to met me for breakfast and a day at the ZOO :D:D:D
We made our way to the ferry port by underground....
Strange Auz... Upside down... People walk down the wrong side of the esulater, and the green man walks the other way :/
When we got to the ferry prt we had a full view of Sydney Opera house and the haubor bridge
to be honest i thought that Sydney Opera house was going to be much bigger.
The ferry over to the zoo was lovely, the day was clear and i was beginning to get use to the cold.
As part of the ticket you get a sky train over the zoo to the top entrance.
I love the zoo and it was great to get to see in the few days i was there a Kola bear and a kangaroo.
Oh my goodness i fell in love with the kola their soo cute!! They look like real life teddy bears and ...... I saw a snow lepod! AGH beautiful
Me amd Katie had a night in with a
soppy DVD and a few bottles of wine.
It was soo lovely to see her.
Its nice to see a familer face half way around the world.
Love to all
