Had an 8 hr overnight bus journey to Canberra on Thursday (didn't manage to sleep so felt like I'd done a night shift next day). Arrived at 4am nothing open. Not even an internet cafe to pass the time. One of the guys the on coach was also staying in same hostel so we both walked there together to find it was closed during the night. Luckily the cleaner was there so let us in to sleep on the sofas. Later that day met with some people in local hospitals about MRI jobs. Not much going on in Canberra though and couldn't have stayed there for a few months which is what I've had needed to do so only stayed one more night before coming up to Sydney. Day 2 spent walking around the museum (pretty boring wasn't impressed) and parliament zone which was surprising interesting. Got a bit soaked in heavy downpour but did see most amazing rainbow after so all worth it.

Sunday morning got the 3 1/2 hour bus to Sydney, staying in a place called Kings Cross. About 15 mins walk into City. Hostel quite nice, dorm with 3 other girls (1 Dutch 2 French). Heard about a backpacker expo on that day so went down and won a free night accomodation and surf lesson in Noosa, Queensland. Very chuffed bout that. Monday had my 1st surf lesson. Had so much fun. The Dutch girl and 2 others we picked up on route (from Leeds) so nice small class. Instructor was typical Aussie surf dude, long blonde hair. Had lesson in morning, then bbq lunch and another lesson in afternoon. Was eventually standing by the end but took some batterings. Ache so much today and scraped my knees and elbows to feel bit bruised but going again poss Sat for more torture. Spent yesterday walking aroung city, saw the opera house, harbour bridge, royal botanic gardens, the rocks, and darling harbour before feet saw so went to back to hostel with more blisters on feet. (All worth it tho!)

Having amazing time enjoying the sunshine, might go to Bondi beach today😉
