New Years Eve Day 2005 in Barossa Valley New Years Eve Day 2005 in Barossa Valley New Years Eve Day 2005 in Barossa Valley

It was about 110 degrees when we took this - but the winery didn't open for another 10 min so we made the best of it with a fun family pic.
Back and Baking

Happy 2006! We just got back from our fabulous South Australia trip this afternoon. We had a crazy, adventurous and fun time blazing trails all over the southern bit of Australia. My plan is to post three post-event blogs over the course of this week - - one for each location we visited.

However, I have a personal rule of not typing, or being near anything that emits even the slightest bit of heat, when the temperature is over 100. And since it was 112 today here in Sydney, and hit 117 yesterday back in Adelaide, AND as I sit here at 9pm typing on my furnace/laptop it is 104, I’m well beyond my tolerance.

Just to be clear (based on personal experience) that is hot enough to make your flip-flops begin to melt while you are wearing them.

So Happy New Year everyone! We are back in civilization where we are awaiting the (please, please, please!) cool front to blow thru tonight.

Here’s a pic we took yesterday at a vineyard in the Barossa Valley, as well as one from Kangaroo Island, to whet your appetite for the blogs to come.
