1. The person I consider most heroic is Taryn Davis. I consider her a hero because she took the intitiative to create a nonprofit organization just for widowed army wives (The American Widow Project) after dealing with her grief. She made a change in the lives of women who have lost their husbands to war.

2. I would nominate Mr. Sicat as the hero of 2011 because he is making a change for students' education in Chicago, and he is taking nothing but the best of performing schools.

3. We don't really study heroes in history unless the heroes are a huge part of myth, cultural beliefs, or religion. I don't think a single person or group decides if someone is heroic. I think that a person has certain characteristics or actions (like making a change for others) that makes him or her a hero. The above people are great examples of heroes who display the action of making a change for others.
