We won't be uploading lots of NY landmark photos because we're here primarily on a family visit. However, on our first night in Brooklyn there was a Hallowe'en parade - never seen so many people in fancy dress and it didn't seem to matter what you wore as long as you dressed up, got out on the street and made lots of noise.

The next day we watched the NY marathon as it came through Brooklyn. Didn't get there early enough to see Paula Radcliffe though. The decibel levels were way up. It seems that anything is an excuse to get out and have a party. There were live bands or DJ's every couple of hundred yards and even the police were waving rattles. Fantastic atmosphere at both events.
