The Wisconsin Dells & Lake Neshonoc - LaCrosse, Wisconsin

We had heard a lot about the Neshonoc area of Wisconsin so we decided to start our trip there. We stayed right on the Neshonoc (pronounced Na shone ick ) lake. The next morning we inflated the pontoons and off we went across the lake. We caught at least 50 - 60 Crappie and a couple of bass in the two days we fished there. This can be a very dangerous lake if the weather turns bad.

Many places had been recommended so we decided to start South and work our way North. We began our Wisconsin trek at the Wisconsin Dells. This is a family oriented playground encompassing one entire town. There are more water parks here than in Florida! One roller coaster ride goes under the highway and out the other side! We ventured into the "Upside Down Whitehouse" where everything is actually upside down including the entire building! Every room, every window, every door, everything ---- Upside down ! The green room, the oval office, the red room, the dining room, all upside down. The furniture was nailed to the floor and we were standing on the ceiling. It does give one a very strange feeling. Everything in the room, pictures on the walls, everything ---upside down! This was a fun place to visit with the grandchildren or it is an ideal place for people with young children to come on vacation for a week. However, one afternoon was all that we needed here. We were looking for more adult entertainment such as a dinner theatre or something a little more cultural.
