Hi all,

Here is our "HOME BLOG"...Some of the things we did in NY and MI for the last couple of weeks, before heading over here to S. Korea. As you will see, we had a great time visiting family and as many friends as we could!

We only spent about a week in NY, but did a lot in that short period of time. One really fun afternoon was when we went to our friend Heather's for a BBQ in Brooklyn. It was nice to see a lot of friends that we haven't seen in about a year, and also that two of our friends Marisol and Bennett are now engaged! After the BBQ, we headed to Manhattan to meet some other friends for dinner at Virgil's in Times Square. Here we met up with Rhamit, Harold, Brenda, and Meghan. Harold and Brenda also recently got engaged, and Meghan just got married in July, and so we all had lots of wedding ideas/stories to share!

Next stop - Michigan! We ended up staying in Michigan a lot longer than we originally had planned because our VISAs took so long to process, but the extra time was very much appreciated by both of us. Not only did we have more time to rest, but we also had the time to do MANY outings and activities. These are a few things we did while in Michigan, including a BBQ at my parents' house, attending a Detroit Tigers' baseball game AND a University of Michigan football game, eating at one of my favorite "senior citizen" restaurants - The Beefcarver, having dinner with our friends Jeremy & Michelle at another fav - P.F. Chang's, and spending some time in Ann Arbor with good friends on our last night in town. We also got to hang out with Rudy (my big-boned kitty), and the newest addition to the family....Nelly the bird. As you can see, he liked to eat breakfast with Larry every morning!

So, that all for now folks....Stay tuned for our adventures in S. Korea, soon to come!

Love,
Larry & Melanie

Laurence Buckley & Melanie Buckley
Hello World, Our journey started on February 16, 2005, when we met in New York City. We became inseparable from the very first day we met, began dating, fell in love, and moved in together in SoHo, N.Y.C. Our lives, now intertwined, took a very adventurous turn as we moved to Japan. While living in Japan for a year I (Larry) taught English as a second language in Shin Uryasu-shi and Melanie was Ariel in a performance of 'The Little Mermaid' at Disney Sea in Tokyo. After Japan, we realized how much we enjoyed traveling and decided to move to South Korea. During our first year in Sout... full info
